The 2024 RS Feva Worlds is now officially underway, marked by a splendid opening ceremony orchestrated by the Dutch Class Association representatives, led by Bart. They truly worked some Dutch magic.
The ceremony, attended by the local Mayor, saw sailors and their supporters gather at the village square, followed by a fun flag parade to the event site. Sailors, proudly wearing their team kits and waving their country flags, filled the streets with cheers and laughter. Midway through, a marching band joined the procession, entertaining everyone with their fantastic music.
Jon Partridge, RS Marine Group Co-CEO, and Michiel Geerling, RS Marine Group Commercial Director and a local, welcomed the crowd, setting an enthusiastic tone for the week and wishing all competitors fair winds and good luck.
This opening ceremony is undoubtedly among the best we have seen, providing a superb start for teams from 18 countries. The atmosphere is electric, the site is buzzing, and regardless of what the weather gods have in store, we are confident that everyone will have an amazing time.
Wishing all competitors all the very best of luck. This event is made possible by subsidy from Provincie Zeeland.
