The RS Feva World Championship 2012 – sponsored by Allen Sailboat Performance Hardware and Magic Marine – will be held at Hayling Island Sailing Club, one of the premier sailing venues on England’s South Coast, two hours’ drive from the London 2012 Olympic Sailing venue at Weymouth.
Hayling Island Sailing Club (HISC) is one of Great Britain’s leading sailing clubs. Situated on a sandy peninsular on the South Coast of Great Britain on the entrance to Chichester Harbour. There is direct access to two superb sailing areas, either the sheltered water of the harbour or the open water of Hayling Bay. HISC has a history of hosting World Class Events. This outstanding venue has much to offer sailors and their families.

HOW TO ENTER THE RS FEVA WORLDS 2012
Please read the information below regarding entry number limits.
1. Complete the Entry Form
Team GBR and NED/BEL sailors – please enter but you will not be asked to pay entry fees until your National Association has approved your entry to us following qualification. If you are unsuccessful in qualifying directly you will be placed on the waiting list for allocation of places in accordance with the Notice of Race (NOR).
Sailors from other countries – please enter but note the entry is provisional until confirmation of payment has been received by the International Secretary.
2. Entry Payment
Please make payment within 14 days of being requested by Golly Tucker following which you will receive confirmation of entry.

Entries are limited to a total of 200 180 boats:
- United Kingdom (GBR): 80
- Netherlands (NED) & Belgium (BEL): 30
- Ireland (IRL): 20
- All other nations: 70
A waiting list be operated for all nations once an entry limit has been reached – see Notice of Race (NOR).

3. Entry Fee
BEFORE JUNE 1: £290 per boat if entry and payment is received before June 1, 2012. Golly Tucker will email you with details of how to pay once you have entered.
AFTER JUNE 1: £350 per boat (from June 1 until the entry deadline on June 30, 2012). If the entry limit has not been exceeded late entries maybe accepted at the event organiser’s discretion.
ENTRY FEE INCLUDES

1 x National flag for mainsail
Note: Our aim is to be clear as to costs and charges involved. We are changing our supplier for Credit Card payments from last years to try and avoid some of the difficulties people had then – this will be available as soon as possible but may take a little time yet. Golly will explain the payment options again when contacting everyone after they have completed the entry form but in brief the options are:
- Payment to be made from a Sterling account into our Sterling account:
- Payment to be made by on-line direct transfer (payment incurs no extra charges). Golly will give the bank details for making the payment when she contacts you.
- Payment to be made from a non-Sterling account into our Sterling account:
- payment to be made by Credit Card on-line (we will be charged 2% for cross border charges and this will be added to the sums to be paid by you). Golly will give the payment details when she contacts you.

1st – 3rd Helm and crew aged 13 or under on the 31 December 2012
1st – 3rd Helm and crew aged 15 or under on 31 December 2012
1st – 3rd Female (both helm and crew aged 17 or under on 31 December 2012)
1st – 3rd Family (or close relatives)
A sailor will not be awarded more than 1 prize save in the event that they qualify for 2 or more permanent trophies.
Spot prizes may be awarded at daily prize givings.
Titles will be awarded as follows:
-RS Feva World Champion: 1st boat (Both Helm and Crew aged 17 or under on 31st December 2012) A boat not that comes first without meeting the age criteria for both sailors will be Open winner of the RS Feva World Championships.
-1st Ladies at RS Feva World Championship 1st All girl boat (both helm and crew aged 17 or under on 31 December 2012)
-1st Junior at RS Feva World Championship: 1st Helm and crew aged 13 or under on the 31 December 2012
CHARTER BOATS
A limited number of charter boats will be available. Please book at the same time as entering. If you wish to discuss anything about charter boats not covered here please email Golly Tucker.

CHARTER OF COACH BOATS
Try Port Tack Charters if you haven’t got a local supplier. Top quality RiBs (rubber boats) available http://porttackcharter.com/ many people used them in Holland for the 2010 Worlds and were very pleased.

INSURANCE
Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of £2,000,000 per event or the equivalent.
SAFETY AND COMMUNICAION
All sailors must have a whistle attached to the outside of their buoyancy aid.
Event information for the duration of the event may be given by text message as well as via the event web page.
SPARES
There is a chandlery at Hayling Isand Sailing . RS Sailing (ie Jon Partridge) will also have some spares available if the chandlery are unable to help.
MEMBERSHIP
All competitors must be a member of their National RS Feva class association , if they have no such national class association, they need to join the International RS Feva Class Association for a fee of €10/£8.60 (please join at the time of entering – there will be an membership option on the registration document)
SUPPORT AND COACH RIBS (MOTOR BOATS)
All support boats attending the Championships are required to register on line before the event. No visitor’s boats other than RS Fevas will be allowed on the club site during the event other than those support boats already registered.
Support boats up to 7 meters must register on line and pay a £65 fee for a support boat package, this will include launching and recovery by HISC staff mooring during the event and harbour dues. The £65 will be collected by the club at registration. Larger boats will be subject to special arrangements on application to HISC.
On arrival support boats shall register and declare the competitor(s) they are associated with, they will be given a launch place, time and mooring instructions. Support boats shall comply with all instructions from the race teams at all times. Failure to do so may result in supported boats receiving a penalty.
ACCOMMODATION
There is accommodation available at the sailing club. This will be open to foreign sailors to book up to 1st Jan 2012 and then it will be open up to the remaining competitors on a first come first served basis. For further details go to http://www.hisc.co.uk/accom2.htm.
Fishery Creek is an excellent campsite which we anticipate many of the competitors will be staying. It is a car drive or decent bike ride from the club.

CAMPER VANS
Strictly no camper vans are allowed at the sailing club
PARKING
There is limited space for parking. If your accommodation is near to the club we strongly advice you to walk or cycle.
TRAVELLING
By Sea
The nearest ports are:
PORTSMOUTH – ferries from St Malo and Caen. Hayling Island Sailing Club is 10 miles, approximately 25 minutes’ drive.
DOVER – ferries from Calais. Hayling Island Sailing Club is 101 miles (165km), between 1.8.- 2.5 hours’ drive depending on traffic volume en route.
HARWICH – ferries from the Hook of Holland. Hayling Island Sailing Club is 123 miles (197 km), between 2.30 – 3 hours’ drive depending traffic volume en route.
By Road
Whatever direction you are coming from, you want to head for the A27/M27 South Coast road.
FROM THE NORTH – For visitors coming from the North or London this is most easily done by following either the A3 or the M3 south until it joins with the South coast route. Leave the A27 at the Havant/Hayling Island exit.
FROM THE SOUTH – Head South on to the A3023 which takes you on to Hayling Island. Road access to Hayling Island is through a single road bridge that makes up a stretch of the A3023 proceed to a roundabout (aprox 3.25miles). At the roundabout take the first exit left to Mengham/Eastoke. Drive straight through Mengham village to the seafront (aprox 1mile). At the T junction on the seafront turn left to Sandy/Eastoke end, then drive along the seafront ( approx 1mile). The road curves to the left, take the first right on the bend into Southwood Road. Drive along Southwood Drive until you come to a dead-end Sign. Turn left here into Bosmere Rd. At T turn junction turn right into Sand Point Rd then take left into Bracklesham Road. You will find HISC entrance gate about 0.25 miles along Bracklesham Road.

By Train
Regular services run from London Victoria, London Waterloo, Gatwick, Portsmouth, Southampton and Brighton to Havant station. From Havant station travellers can take a taxi.
