Dear all – On the morning of the practice race next Saturday you are all invited to hang your national flags from the tops of your masts in the dinghy park. The UK team are taking part in the Push the Boat Out celebrations to wish all the Olympic sailors good luck. We will have television cameras around for part of the morning and a sailing celebrity will visit – Dee Caffari who is the only woman to have raced around the planet 3 times and done it in both directions and alone as well as fully crewed! It should be good fun and the UK association may arrange for an hour or so’s sailing just by the club for the benefit of the cameras. Details of what they will do will be on the notice board at the club. All nations are welcome to join in and show support for their own olympic teams. So … bring your flags to hoist from your masts next Saturday! Yes – it is now NEXT Saturday. Have fun and see you there. The International Association xxx.
