Going into the final race only 2 boats could win. So they match raced a la Ainslie-Scheidt for gold at Sydney. 2 boats that had already won 7 races between them came 37 & 39th! Result? Current World Champion Matt Whitfield & James Taylor are Champions – congratulations! Rob Masterman & Marcus Payne second. Third on a tie break Elliott Wells & Jake Todd from Anna Prescott & Jess Eales. Fantastic – well world, you now know who the UK standard setters are for you to challenge at the worlds in 47 days time.

Daan Dutilh and Roos van Lookeren from Holland improved hugely over the 3 days and had a 13th in the last race in what was a very hard regatta they . Keep on improving like that and Matt/James will have close company at HISC. Game on!
